James Store
"The shop was started in 1948 by my parents. The original premises were three ex-army huts full of army surplus clothes, boots, etc. When my father arrived home from a government auction one day with a large lot of wellington boots we discovered every one was for the left foot. Needless to say, my parents decided to start selling new wellingtons from then on.
After that they started to sell boots, shoes, working clothes, new and secondhand furniture, timber and roofing sheets - in fact almost anything the local people needed - the shop was called Masbury Woolworth by most of its customers!
In the early 1980's we built a new shop on the site of the old army huts. Today the shop stocks tools, household and D.I.Y. goods, kitchenware/tableware, haberdashery and wools and a large selection of over 300 ind buttons. We also stock a large selectoin of HG cleaning products. And new for 2009 MASBURY SPRING HOMEBREW and equipment.
Our products change daily so please come and browse around. You are sure to find something that you want at competitive prices."
