A Somerset variety introduced about 1864. One of the earliest dessert apples; sweet, juicy and pleasantly sharp. Bright red flush on pale yellow skin. Flesh is sometimes pink. Best eaten straight from the tree! Heavy crops. Spreading habit. Suitable for colder areas. Pollinator Group A.
