Alnus Cordata [Alder]

A handsome, pyramidal tree, tolerating a very wide range of soil types, from waterside situations through to dry chalky soils. Like A. incana, it is a promising tree for planting on industrial waste ground and despite its country of origin it appears reasonably hardy in Britain.
