Alnus Glutinosa

Common Alder (Alnus Glutinosa) is a medium sized, fast growing, deciduous native tree. It is particularly useful for poor ground and wet sites. The Common Alder has shiny green leaves, yellow catkins in Spring and false cones in the Autumn which are good food for small birds. Good for taller hedges 2 metres +. Common Alder is a useful tree for screens and windbreaks. Height up to 20 metres.
