Malus Profusion

A spreading, deciduous tree which produces masses of rich, rosy-red flowers in April, darkening to shades of purple before they start to fade during the Summer. These are produced above reddish-green young spring foliage with crimson veining that turns to bronze-green with age. The flowers are followed by small, cherry-like, dark purple crab apples which last a long time and make excellent jellies. It has a vigorous, spreading growth habit and forms a small, bell-shaped tree that’s ideal for an ornamental garden in an urban site. Tolerant of pollution and salt-laden air.
