Prunus Shirotae {Flowering Cherry}

A spreading, low-crowned tree, it has arching branches that sometimes reach the ground. It is a distinctive and appealing sight in April when the branches are covered with the long-stalked clusters of very large blooms, clear brilliant white and almost fully double. The spreading stems can be pruned in late Summer allowing time for wounds to heal before leaf fall. Trees are fully hardy and can be grown in any soil, except waterlogged, and prefers full sun.
